Jackie Coker

Honea Path – Jackie Colleen Goode Coker, faithful servant of the Lord, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, April 20, 2013.

 

 

One of ten girls, Jackie was born in Polk County, N.C. She was a member of Dry Oak Assembly of God, Belton, where she was an adult Sunday School teacher for over 50 years. The Lord led her in a different direction and she became the Coordinator of the Missionettes and the Royal Ranger Program. She was a member and one time Leader of the Ladies WM Department. She also held many other positions throughout the years. Her hearts desire was to serve her Lord. She will be remembered as a faithful prayer warrior who put the Lord first in her life. She retired from WR Grace, (Cryovac), in 1993.

She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Thomas Wilbert Coker, a daughter, Carolyn Patterson and her husband Trent of the home, seven sisters, Pat Reynolds and Penney Greene, both of Mauldin, Brenda Lewis of Chesapeake VA, Omega Cheek of N. Augusta, Sara Bain of Simpsonville, Judy Patrick of Honea Path, and Rose Connor and husband Robert of Bostic, NC,  a son-in-law, Jimmy Holliday (Pam) of Belton, a daughter-in-law, Donna Coker (Danny) of Honea Path, grandsons, Josh Patterson and wife Katie of Honea Path, Jeremy Patterson and wife Erin of Belton, Shane and Matt Holliday of Belton, and Jason Coker of Anderson, granddaughters, Carrie Logan and husband Jason of Anderson, and Terah Coker of Honea Path, four great-grandsons and three great-granddaughters, and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her parents, Thomas and Johnnie Hayes Goode, a son, Danny Coker, a daughter, Pamela Holliday, two sisters, Geraldine Goode and Janet Holliday, mother-in-law, Opal Coker.

A Celebration of her life will be held in her honor at 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 23, 2013 at Dry Oak Assembly of God with Rev. Caleb Howard and Rev. Charles Heatherly officiating. Burial will follow in Eastview cemetery.

The family is at the home and will receive friends Monday 5-8 p.m. at Dry Oak Assembly of God. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Dry Oak Assembly of God Children’s Dept., 1644 Holliday Dam Rd, Belton, SC 29627 or to Hospice of the Upstate, 1825 Rogers Rd, Anderson, SC 29621.Parker-White-Pruitt Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
