Bill "T-Buck" Thomas

 

Honea Path – Due to the inclement weather, all funeral services for William Turner Thomas will take place Friday at Pruitt Funeral Home with visitation from 1-3 p.m. and services at 3 p.m.

 

Honea Path – William Turner Thomas, 89, husband of Naomi Cooley Thomas, of 306 W. Hampton Ave, died Sunday, February 9, 2014 at AnMed Health Medical Center.

 

 

Born in Anderson County, he was a son of the late Claude and Louise Fields Thomas. He was a member of Honea Path First Baptist Church and the retired owner and operator of Bill’s Barber Shop. Mr. Thomas was a decorated US Army veteran of WWII, where he served as a Sergeant and Squad Leader in General George S. Patton’s “Hardhitting” Third Army and saw action at The Battle of the Bulge, Rhine River at Manheim, and Normandy.  He was the recipient of three bronze stars.

Surviving in addition to his loving wife of 67 years of the home are: a special great-great nephew, Austin Lowry of the home, numerous nieces and nephews, and special caregiver, Michael Lowry. He was predeceased by four brothers and two sisters.

Funeral services with military honors will be held at 3 p.m. Friday, February 14, 2014 at Pruitt Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Mike Moody officiating.

The family is at the home and will receive friends Friday from 1-3 p.m. at Pruitt Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Honea Path First Baptist Church Building Fund, 100 S.
