Born in Greenville County, she was a daughter of the late Charles Newton and Cora Belle Smith Adair. She was a homemaker and a member of Harmony United Methodist Church.
Surviving three sons; Mike Hughes and wife Debby of Laurens, Rick Hughes and wife Karon of Ware Shoals and Charles Hughes of Piedmont, one daughter; JoAnn Hughes Gary and husband Tommy of Ware Shoals, a brother, Ralph Adair of Charleston, a sister, Sara Simpson of Ware Shoals, seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by six brothers Calvin, Ernest, Henry, Cecil, Wilford, Allen, and Carroll Adair.
Funeral services will be 2 PM Monday at Harmony United Methodist Church with Rev. Tina Thomas and Rev. Lamar Babb officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
