Honea Path – Joseph (Joe) Lewis Meyers, Jr., 85, husband of Willie Mae Cunningham Meyers, went home to be with his Lord Wednesday, November 19, 2014.
Born in Anderson County, he was a son of the late Joseph Lewis and Mary M. Lollis Meyers, Sr. He was a member of Chiquola Baptist Church. He was employed by Appleton Mills for 25 years and retired from the Torrington Company in Honea Path.
Surviving in addition to his wife of 68 years are: two daughters, Mary Elizabeth Meyers Gable and husband Ronnie of Honea Path and Jo Ann Meyers Cothran and husband Michael of Belton; one brother, Earl Lollis Meyers of Honea Path; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a sister, Dorothy (Dot) Walker and a grandson Adam Cothran.
Funeral Services will be held at 2 PM Friday at Chiquola Baptist Church with Rev. Ronnie Powell, Rev. Brad Haynes and Rev. Jerry White officiating. Burial to follow in Eastview Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:30 – 2:00 PM at the church prior to the service.
