Myrtle Holley

Waterloo – Myrtle Hand Holley, 89, of 2104 Riverfork Rd, passed away Saturday, May 21, 2016 at Hospice Care of the Piedmont after a brief illness.

Born in Belton, SC, she was a daughter of the late Colen Prince and Lillie Mae Darby Hand. She worked all of her life in textiles, at Riegel Textiles and then later retired from Monsanto after 26 years. She attended Mt Gallagher Baptist Church in Ware Shoals. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

Surviving are two daughters, Pam Knight of Ware Shoals and Wanda Butler (Robert) of Greenwood, two grandchildren, Megan Booth of Honea Path and Erin Oberdier (Anthony) of Waterloo, a step-grandson, Brian Butler of Columbia, and two special great-grandchildren, Brett and Aubrey.

She was predeceased by three sisters, Ellen Banister, Vivian Vickery, Thelma Collins, and four brothers, Haskell Hand, Harmon Hand, Gary Hand, and John Hand.

Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, May 23, 2016 at Greenwood Memorial Gardens with Rev. Dr. Marcus Bishop officiating.
