Homer McGaha

Donalds – Homer McGaha, 87, widower of Frances Jane Seawright McGaha, of 324 Church Avenue Ext., died Tuesday, July 12, 2016 at his home.

Born in Abbeville County, he was a son of the late Earl and Marie Prince McGaha. He was of the Baptist faith and had served in the US Army Reserves. He was a retired Brick Mason and an avid fisherman.

Mr. McGaha was the last surviving member of his immediate family. Surviving are: three sons, Daniel McGaha of Honea Path, Michael McGaha of the home, and Johnny (Katherine) McGaha of Anderson, four daughters, Jane (Marion Gambrell) McGaha of Honea Path, Patti McGaha of Due West, Tammy (Ricky) Willis of Greenwood, and Michelle (Phillip) Thomas of Honea Path, ten grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was predeceased by his brother, Vernon McGaha and two sisters, Virginia Tallent and Lou Ellen Smith.

Memorial services will be held at 7 p.m. Friday, July 15, 2016 at New Hope Baptist Church, Due West, with Rev. Richard Ashley and Rev. Stanley Fuller officiating.

The family is at their respective homes and will receive friends Friday from 5-7 p.m. at the church prior to the service. In lieu of flowers the family request memorials be made to The Homer McGaha Fund, c/o Pruitt Funeral Home, PO Box 266, Honea Path, SC 29654.
