Leroy “Papa” Pruitt

Anderson – Jackie Leroy “Papa” Pruitt, 75, of 11 Harris St., husband of Dorothy Burkett Pruitt, died Friday, June 25, 2010 at AnMed Health Center.

Born in Abbeville, he was a son of the late Claudis Carlile and Vera Belora Williams Pruitt. He was a member of Redemption Life Tabernacle.

Surviving are his wife of the home; a son, Ken Pruitt of Anderson; two daughters, Tammy Hollingsworth of Anderson and Sherry Cucumber of Cherokee, NC.; a sister, Faye Dukes of Honea Path; nine grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren. He was pre-deceased by three brothers and three sisters.

Funeral services will be held at 2 PM Sunday at Redemption Life Tabernacle with Rev. Vance Touchton and Rev. Manley Shaw officiating. Burial will follow in the Garden of Memories, Belton.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Saturday at Pruitt Funeral Home, Honea Path. The body will be placed in the church at 1 PM Sunday. The family is at the home. Online condolences may be made at www.ParkerWhitePruitt.com
