Ware Shoals – Alma Messer Brown, 83 off 17695 Hwy. 25, widow of Oscar Lawson (George) Brown died Tuesday at her home.

Born in Greenville county she was a daughter of the late Harley Gilbert and Lunia Gilliland Messer. She was a member of Broadmouth Baptist Church and was a life long resident of Ware Shoals. She was formerly a home health nurse and former owner of Brown’s Auction and Antiques.

Surviving are one son; Bob Honicutt of Ware Shoals, one daughter; Marilyn (Ann) Rhodes of Greenwood, four sisters; Lois Vickers of Travelers Rest, Evelyn Nunn of Piedmont, Bulah McCall of Greenville and Glenda Broome of Easley, one grandchild; Roxanne Richey of Ware Shoals and two great-grandchildren; Skylar Richey, who was the most important person in her life and Chloe Rebecca Dudley. She was predeceased by three brothers; Junior, Garland and Marvin Messer.

Funeral services will be 2 PM Thursday at Parker-White Funeral Home with Rev. Justin Phillips officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends from 1-2 PM Thursday prior to the service at Parker-White Funeral Home. Online condolences may be made at www.parkerwhitepruitt.com.
