Born in Honea Path, she was a daughter of the late Robert and Ruth Lancaster Gambrell. She was of the Church of God faith and was retired from Riegel Textile Co.

Surviving are 4 sons, Danny Bordelon of Honea Path, Kevin Young of Starr, Tony Young of Greenwood, and Timmy Bordelon of Honea Path, one daughter, Gail White of Starr, a brother, Gene Gambrell of Simpsonville, two sisters, Bobbie Sullivan and Mary Ellen Drake both of Honea Path, 16 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild. She was pre-deceased by two sons, Billy and Ricky Bordelon, three brothers, Gerald Gambrell, Roy Gambrell, and John Gambrell, and a sister Marion Johnson.
