Born in Greenwood County, she was a daughter of the late Jesse Paul and Martha Hodges Timms. She was a member of Walnut Grove Baptist Church and retired from Riegel Textile Corp. after 42 years of service.

Surviving are: a sister, Mildred (Sam) McAllister of Greenwood and several special nieces and nephews whom she dearly loved. She was predeceased by three brothers, Woodrow, Paul, and Melvin Timms, and three sisters, Mary Sue Timms, Frances Long, and Elizabeth Cooper.

Funeral services will be held at 3 P.M. Sunday, May 21, 2017 at Walnut Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Charles Robertson officiating. Private burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family is at their respective homes and will receive friends from 2-3 P.M. Sunday at the church prior to the service.
