Born in Anderson County, he was a son of Mary Evelyn Davis Rumsey and the late Claude Mack Rumsey. He was a maintenance mechanic, and was formerly employed by Regional Utility Services of Spartanburg, and Duke Energy’s Lee Steam Station.

In addition to his wife of the home, Mr. Rumsey is survived by two sons: Andrew Michael Rumsey of Honea Pathand Adam Walker Rumsey of Georgia; one stepson: Jared Michael Johnson of Williamston; one sister: Tammy Palmer of Townville; and two grandsons: Trenton and Paxton Johnson.

He is preceded in death by one brother:  Mack Rumsey Jr.; and one sister: Claudia Yvonne McKinney.

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, July 21 at Pruitt Funeral Home Chapel with Chaplain John Saunders officiating.
