Born in Anderson County, he was a son of the late John B. and Nancy Richey Moore.He was a member of Honea Path First Baptist Church, where he taught in the Dwight McNinch Sunday School class and served as a deacon. He was a veteran of the US Naval Reserves. Mr. Moore was a residential builder.

Surviving in addition to his wife of 59 years of the home are; daughters Jan (Chuck) Meeks of Belton and Nancy (Tim) Foster of Honea Path; grandchildren Alex (Justin) Ashley, Anna (Ross) Pruitt, Carson (Cohen) Bratcher, Emily Meeks, Charlie Meeks and Peri (Avery) Hawkins; great grandchildren Campell Ashley, Alivia Ashley and Liam Pruitt; brother Douglas (Sara) Moore of Greenwood.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother John Marshall Moore, Sr. and sisters Irene M. Neese and Christine M. Franks.

Funeral services will be held at 2 P.M. Wednesday, October 10, 2018 at Honea Path First Baptist Church with Rev. Robert Beaver officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family is at the home and will receive friends from 12:30-2 P.M. Wednesday at the church prior to the service.
