Gladys Timms Strickland

Ware Shoals – Gladys Timms Strickland, 97, widow of Harold H. Strickland, formerly of Highway 25 North, died Friday, January 4, 2019 at Hospice Care of the Piedmont.

Born in Honea Path, she was a daughter of the late Grady W. and Edna Pearl Owens Timms. She was a member of Harmony United Methodist Church and attended Mt. Bethel United Methodist Church. She was retired from Riegel Textile Co.

Surviving are two daughters, Mildred S. Davis and Carol S. Landers, both of Ware Shoals, a sister, Laura Jean Kirby of Honea Path, five grandchildren, Theresa Robinson (Eddie), Donna Sullivan (Charles), Chandra Christian (Richard), Mark Landers, and Jon Landers (Kerrie), eight great-grandchildren, Jennifer Robinson, Joy Curtis (Devin), Nathan Wood (Kayla), Josh Sullivan (Danielle), Kenny Christian, Ty Christian, Alex Landers, and Ben Landers, six great-great grandchildren, Bo Curtis, Jacie Wood, Wyatt Wood, Kaylin Sullivan, Klay Sullivan, and Ken Sullivan.

She was pre-deceased by four sisters, Selma T. Ashley, Edna T. Moore, Frances T. Cox, and Corrine T. Taylor, a great-grandson, Wesley Chad Robinson, and a grand daughter-in-law, Darla Landers.

Funeral services will be held at 2 PM Monday, January 7, 2019 at Parker-White Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Suzy Sullivan, Rev. Homer Gilmer, and Mr. Nathan Wood officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Memorial Gardens.

The family is at their respective homes and will receive friends from 1 to 2 P.M. Monday at Parker-White Funeral Home prior to the service.
