Born in Ware Shoals He was a son of the late Roy and Elleree Kirkland Madden. He attended Rabon Creek Baptist Church and was a retired self employed carpenter.

In addition to his wife of the home, Mr. Madden is survived by, two sons, Joseph Charles Madden of Hickory Tavern, Wilburn Brian Madden of Greenville, one daughter, Lindsey Madden of Hickory Tavern, one brother, Steve Madden of Greenville, four sisters, Margie Williams and Brenda Yearwood, both of Powdersville, Lois Young (Doye) of Travelers Rest, Alice Smith of Belton, four grandchildren, Joseph Madden, Kayla Madden, Caleb Howard, Summer Howard, four great-grandchildren, Nikolai Madden, Anna Bell Avery, Darrin Madden and Owen Madden. He was predeceased by one brother, Earl Madden
