Born in Providence, RI, he was a son of the late Robert John Martin, Sr. and Marilyn Martin Prior. He was retired from his work as a jeweler, and was a member of Broadmouth Baptist Church.

Surviving in addition to his wife Sharon of the home are one son: Robert J Martin and wife Marci of Williamston; one step-son: Eddie Parker Jr., of Rhode Island one brother: Richard Martin of Rhode Island; three sisters: Pamela Martin Bernardi, Tammy Martin, both of Rhode Island, and Denise Lepore of Florida; and three grandchildren: Kelli Martin, Gabriel Parker, and Owen Parker; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

Mr. Martin is pre-deceased by one brother: Gary Martin.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, January 15 at Eastview Cemetery with Rev. Justin Phillips officiating. The family will receive friends after the service at the graveside.
