Born in Honea Path, SC, she was a daughter of the late Thomas Grady and Essie Wiggins Gilmer.  She was a member of First Assembly of God Church in Honea Path.

She is survived by her husband of the home, a son, Mikey Sexton of Irmo and two step sons, Joe and Mike Shaw both of Anderson, a daughter, Darlene Ballard of Honea Path and a step daughter, Christine Cook of Anderson and ten grandchildren. She was predeceased by a brother, Thomas Gilmer and a sister, Betty Alverson. 

Graveside services will be held on Monday, January 4, 2021 at 1 PM at the Garden of Memories with Rev. Homer Gilmer officiating. Mask and social distancing are requested by the family.
