Born in Dacusville, he was a son of the late Paul Bryan, Sr. and Lena Cavanaugh Boroughs. He was a member of Austin Road Baptist Church and a veteran of the US Army, having served during the Vietnam War.

Surviving are: two daughters, Pam Harrison of Williamston and Donna Buroughs of Pelzer; two brothers, Ray (Susan) Buroughs of Old Town FL, and Durwood (Carolyn) Buroughs of Cheddar Community; and good friend and caregiver, Ronnie Andrews of Honea Path.

Sam was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Paul Bryan Boroughs, Jr., Robert Bolt Boroughs, and Bailey Boyce Boroughs; and three sisters, Emila B. Loftis, Mary Frances Buroughs, and Patricia Elaine Burgess.

Funeral services will be held at 1 P.M. Monday, October 4, 2021 at Austin Road Baptist Church with Rev. Billy Slatten officiating. Burial with Military Honors will follow in M.J. “Dolly” Cooper Veterans Cemetery.
