Born in Greenwood, SC, he was a son of the late Jeter Drayton and Frances Elizabeth Brooks Willis. He was of the Baptist Faith and attended Holiday Church. He was a graduate of Piedmont Tech and Rhema Bible College in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. He loved Art, collected antiques, was a musician, and he recorded a CD in Atlanta Recording Studio. Music was his passion. He loved life and embraced life with passion.

Surviving are his wife, three sons, Caleb Willis (Vi) of Gautier, MS, Wesley Willis of VanCleaue, MS, and Dray Brock (Caroline) of Foley, AL, a daughter, Dalesse Willis of Greenwood, two sisters, Shirley Willis of Clearwater, Fl, and Peggy Patrick of Ware Shoals, and eight grandchildren, Brysen Willis (Jasmine), Benjamin Brock, Paige McAllister, Cayden Willis, Klaus Willis, Jackson Clamp, Aubrey Boss, and Jayse Willis.
