Edna ‘Joyce’ Todd Ovrick

Edna Joyce Todd Ovrick, 83, of Chamblee, GA, widow of Richard Lee Ovrick died peacefully on Tuesday, May 10, 2022.

Born in Ware Shoals, SC she was a daughter of the late Marvin and Mildred Todd. She moved to Atlanta in 1957 and started her career with Southern Bell. She retired as a manager at Bellsouth in the Engineering Department in 1991. After retiring, she worked as a consultant for Bellsouth/AT&T until 2006. Joyce also started preparing taxes in 1984. In 1996, she started her own tax business and officially retired in Dec 2018. Joyce loved her family, her friends and her fur-babies. She enjoyed traveling, reading, gardening and a good debate.

Surviving are step-sons - David Ovrick (Linda) of Johns Creek, GA, and Scott Ovrick (Robyn) of Hampton, GA, step-daughters - Barbara Grivas (Ted) of Jacksonville, FL, and Marsha Martin of Dawsonville, GA, brother - Sidney Todd of Honea Path, SC, sister - Linda Satterfield of Honea Path, SC, grandsons - Alex, Max, and Nickolaus Ovrick, granddaughter - Lauren Orem, nieces - Donna Eelman, Laura Wilson, Sherry Bazar, Wanda Woodruff, Rhonda Cornelius, Patty Buff, Misty Kembrell, and Bridgette Smith, and nephews - Dean Malone, Paul Ezell, Robin McCoy, Walter Downs, Daniel Satterfield, and Keith Jones.

She was predeceased by her husband of 35 years, her parents, sisters - Lucy Downs, Betsy White, and Nancy Jones, niece - Gail Hudson and nephew - Mark Satterfield.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, May 14, 2022 at Greenwood Memorial Gardens, Hodges, SC at 11AM.

The family will receive visitors from 6 to 8 PM on Friday, May 13, 2022 at Parker-White Funeral Home, Ware Shoals, SC. Online condolences may be made at www.ParkerWhitePruitt.com.
