Born in Lancaster, she was a daughter of Danny Ray Quarles and the late Kathryn Whittaker Quarles. She was a loving mother, grandmother and sister. Tanya was a member of Long Branch Baptist Church. She worked as a caregiver for 17 years for Gilbert family. She loved traveling to the beach and to the mountains.

She is survived by her two sons: Dustin McConnell of Honea Path and Devin McConnell (Jennifer) of Honea Path; three sisters: Keena Whitaker Sims (David) of Lancaster, Scarlett Small (Brian) of Lancaster and Penny Walker (Jay) of Anderson; her brother Ken “Flop” Quarles of Honea Path; and her grandson Harlen Russell McConnell.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM Wednesday, November 23 at Long Branch Baptist Church, Anderson, with Rev. Wayne Watson and Mr. Russel Barton officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.

The family is at the home of her sister Penny, 1686 Highway 252, Belton, and will receive friends Wednesday from 1-3 at Long Branch Baptist Church, prior to the service.
