Born in Honea Path, he was a son of the late Grady Babb, Sr. and Nancy Crawford Kay. Grady was a faithful member and Deacon of Honea Path First Baptist Church.  He retired from Anderson Owens Corning Fiberglass after 38 years of service then enjoyed his farm and raising cattle.  Grady served in the SC Army National Guard, was a member of Centre #37 A.F.M. and the Hejaz Shrine Temple.  He was an active community leader and served on the Anderson Federal Credit Union Board of Directors.

Surviving are his wife. Shelby, of the home, two sons, Greg Kay (Sally) of Charlotte, NC and Bryan Kay (Lisa) of Columbia, a sister Kathleen Campbell (Keith) of Easley, four grandchildren, Hunter Kay, Hannah Kay, Jordan Kay (Amelia), and Matthew Kay and two great-grandchildren, Thayer Kay and Alder Kay.

Funeral services will be held at 3 PM on Tuesday, November 29, 2022 at Honea Path First Baptist Church with Dr. Josh Phillips and Rev. Mike Moody officiating. Burial with Masonic rites will follow in the Garden of Memories.

The family is at the home and will receive friends from 2 to 3 PM on Tuesday at Honea Path First Baptist Church prior to the service.
