Born in Greenwood, he was a son of the late William Terry and Marie Motes Gillespie. He was a member of Mt. Gallagher Baptist Church where he taught the RA’s. He cherished every relationship he had with his church family. He was a 1979 Graduate of Ware Shoals High School and remained a loyal fan of the Hornets and the Carolina Gamecocks. He started working at Riegel Textile Co. before finishing High School and later worked as parts manager for Johnson Motors Buick, Welborn-Thompson Chevrolet, and Kevin Whitaker Chevrolet. He retired from Self Regional Healthcare after 30 years in the IT department. Keith loved nature and animals, fishing, kayaking, and hiking in the mountains.

Surviving are his wife, Melisande, of the home, a daughter, Candi Roach of Gray Court, his father and mother-in-laws, Sammy and Patrice Richey Martin, a brother-in-law, Shannon Martin, a sister-in-law, Alicia Phillips (David), a grandchild, Carleigh Jefferson, five nieces, Chelsea, Reagan, Neely, Lindsey, and Pam, four nephews, Ben, Chandler, Sam, and Collin, four great nieces, Christin, Emmy, Blakely, and Audrey, two great-nephews Cooper and Brook, and two great-great nieces, Kylie and Mia.

In addition to his parents he was predeceased by two brothers, Mike and Jimmy Gillespie, a sister, Kimberly Michelle Gillespie, his paternal grandparents, Eldred and Sadie Gillespie, his maternal grandparents, Arthur and Ramer Motes and a great-great niece, Alia Cagle.

Funeral services will be held at 1 PM on Wednesday, June 25, 2025 at Mt. Gallagher Baptist Church with Rev. Nate Wiles officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family is at the home and will receive friends from 12 to 1 PM on Wednesday at Mt. Gallagher Baptist Church prior to the service.
