Stephen Jameson

Stephen Allen Jameson, born April 5, 1948, son of the late William Jameson, Sr. and Erline Hannah Jameson, in Anderson, SC, passed from this life on August 30, 2024, in Charleston, SC after a lengthy illness.

He is survived by wife, Jody and by sisters Hannah Tipper of Charleston, Catherine Puckett of Charleston, Mary Verdery of Augusta, GA., a brother, Bill Jameson of Saluda, NC., nephews Ford Verdery, Jr. of Lewes, DE, Larry Tipper of Wilmington, NC, Robert Jameson of Fruitland Baptist Bible College, Hendersonville, NC. and nieces, Whitney Page of Augusta, GA., Rebecca Nisoff of Charleston, and Jessica Jameson of Hendersonville, NC.  

“Stevie” was a proud graduate of the College of Charleston and served honorably in the US Army during the Vietnam era with service in Germany and South Korea.  He was a true believer in Jesus Christ and a devoted member of Grace United Methodist Church. He retired from the administrative staffs of the Charleston Naval Shipyard and Cherry Point Naval Air Station in North Carolina.

His siblings are extremely grateful to niece Rebecca Nisoff and her family, Chris and Joshua for their devotion, love and care for Steve during his illness.

A Celebration of Life was held at Grace United Methodist Church on October 15th, 2024.

A burial at the Eastview Cemetery located in Honea Path, SC will be on July 26, 2025 at 11 am.

Memorials may be sent to Grace United Methodist Church at 1601 Sam Rittenberg Blvd., Charleston, SC 29407.
