Born in Laurens County, Popular Springs Community, he was a son of the late Preston Callie and Thelma Fisher Abrams.  He was employed with Smith and Waters, Inc. for 41 years and a member of Honea Path Pentecostal Holiness Church. He was also a mason and past master of Independent Lodge No.23 A.F.M. in Donalds, SC, and a Shriner. He had a true love for the outdoors, especially gardening, hunting and fishing.

Surviving in addition to his wife Doris are his son, John Robert (Bob) Abrams of Hodges; his daughter Rebecca Greenway of Honea Path; two granddaughters: Gracen Hamilton (Kevin) and Rana Greenway; and two great-grandchildren: Xander and Ava Hamilton, all of whom he loved dearly.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Preston L. Abrams.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, January 23, 2026 at Pruitt Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Shane Elrod and Rev. Paul Cooper officiating. The family will receive friends from 1-2 PM prior to the service at the funeral home.
