Born in Anderson County, she was a daughter of the late Raymond Hoyt and Frances Lollis Brock. She was a member of Honea Path Church of God and retired from Monsanto. Betty will be remembered for her love of riding the lawnmower and “swinging” the weedeater.
Surviving are: her daughter. Joyce (Greg Stevenson) Gilmer of Pelzer; her step-daughter, Janie Lindley of Ware Shoals; her step-son, Tim (Debbie) Boland; her brother Willie Claude Brock of Belton; her sister, Patsy (Henry Earl) Brock of Honea Path; her sister-in-law, Jane Brock of Elgin; four grandchildren, Jamie (Kacie) Tyner, Dylan (Bree) Waters, Mollie-Kate Gilmer and Emily (Kyle) Burton; two great-grandchildren, Remi Tyner and Lewis Burton; and special caregiver, Tabitha Bryant.
Mrs. Boland was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and her beloved son, Rodney Gilmer; her step-son, Jimmy Boland; and two brothers, Roy Calvin “Shorty” Brock and Raymond ‘Junebug” Brock, Jr.
Graveside services will be held at 11 A.M. Monday, April 20, 2026 at Eastview Cemetery with Rev. James Ray Lolllis officiating.
