Born in Abbeville County, he was a son of the late William Henry, Sr. and Margie Marie Ashley. He was a member of Southside Baptist Church and retired from Duke Power. Billy was a long time farmer and enjoyed working his farm. He dearly loved his children and was always there for them. He was “PaPa” to his grandchildren and great-grandchildren who brought him so much joy. Billy was a member of Donalds Lodge #23 A.F.M.

Surviving are: his son, William “Chuck” (Pam) Ashley, III of Summerville; a daughter, Pam Griffin of Anderson; two brothers, Boyce Ashley and Rex (Debra) Ashley, both of Donalds; six grandchildren, Deidre (Patrick) Hash, Jessica Griffin, Boyce (Allison) Wilson, Robyn (Mark) Waldrop, Ryan (Denise) Ashley and Dixie (Stephen) Ross; and fifteen great-grandchildren, Addison, Morgan, Cheyenne, Ethan, Charleston, Maddox, Trudy, Hayzen, Rhiannon, Gage, Cooper, Baylee, Jakob, Madison and Logan.

Mr. Ashley was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; three daughters, Theresa Wilson, Wendy Wilson and Angela Causley; and two sisters, Betty Ashley Hall and Ouita Todd.

Funeral services will be held 12 noon Saturday April 25, 2026 at Pruitt Funeral Home Chapel with Mr. Ryan Ashley officiating. Burial will follow in Keowee Baptist Church Cemetery.
