Born in Greenwood County, she was the daughter of the late Hubert and Gaynell Watts Walker. She was a long time member of Chiquola Baptist Church and was the retired owner of The Playhouse Day Care and Learning Center.

Surviving are: her son, Mark (Mickey) Abercrombie of Donalds; her daughter, Karen “Prissy” (Jamie) Vaughan of Donalds; her brother, Tommy Ray Walker of Wilmington, NC; three grandchildren, Hayley (Tyler) McElrath, Reagan Abercrombie (Seth Center)  and Walker Vaughan (Carissa Branyon); and two great-grandchildren, Dawson McElrath and Rippton McElrath.

Funeral services will be held at 2 P.M. Sunday, August 30, 2026 at Chiquola Baptist Church with Mr. Ron Craft officiating. Burial will follow in Eastview Cemetery.

The family is at the home of her daughter, Karen, 376 Williamson Hill Rd, Donalds, SC and will receive friends Saturday evening at Pruitt Funeral Home, Honea Path, SC, from 6-8 P.M. In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial donations be made to Agape Hospice, 326 Montague Avenue, Greenwood, SC 29649.
