Born in Oconee County, he was a son of the late Alston James and Eunice Stancil Dickert. He was a member of Williamston Pentecostal Holiness Church, and worked as a truck driver.

Roy is survived by his son Ray Dickert and wife Sandy of Seneca; his daughters: Lisa Oakley of Kannapolis, NC and Bridgett Jenkins of Little Switzerland, NC; one brother: James Dickert and wife Diane; six sisters: Betty Cobb, Sue Crittendon, Edna Smith, Linda Martin, Patricia Bowman and husband Fred and Barbara Dickert Stone; five grandchildren; and his son-in-law Van Oakley.

He was preceded in death by his brother Wallace Dickert and three sisters: Cindy Dickert, Ruby Dickert and Faye Price.

The family will receive friends at his home, 1010 McEnroe Circle, Piedmont, from 5-8 PM on Wednesday, November 4, 2026.
