Paul Brown

Ware Shoals - Paul Andrew Brown, 65, of 36 Circle Street, died Wednesday, September 16, 2015 at Greenville Memorial Hospital.

Born in Ware Shoals, he was a son of the late Edgar David and Mattie Blanche Davenport Brown. He was of the Pentecostal faith, was retired from Pfizer, where he worked as a maintenance mechanic and was a veteran of the US Navy.

Those of you who knew him knew his good heart and helping nature. He would do ANYTHING for those he cared about and even those he hardly knew. He couldn’t stand for even an animal to be hungry. He was not a selfish man. He was a thinker and he never made hasty decisions about anything. He was slow about doing things, but you could bet that it would be done right, and very precisely. He was “Our Rock”.

Mr. Brown is survived by his partner and soul-mate: Sheila C. Trull of Greenwood; two brothers: John D. Brown of Ware Shoals and Thomas E. Brown of Shoals Junction; two sisters: Kathy B. Hall (Gary) of Greenwood and Martha A. Dowd of Aiken; numerous nieces and nephews; and was ‘Pa’ to Makiyah and Maddox Kirkman.

He was preceded in death by one sister: Jessie Martin.

He left behind two beloved pet dogs, Dakota and Montana, and five cats.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM Saturday, September 19, at Parker-White Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Leon Jones officiating. Burial will follow at Ware Shoals City Cemetery.

The family is at their respective homes, and will receive friends from 1-3 PM Saturday, prior to the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Humane Society of Greenwood: P.O. Box 49776, Greenwood, SC 29649.
