Born in Greenwood; she was a daughter of the late Luther and Annie Hilley Morgan. She was a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church and was retired from Riegel Textile Corporation.

Ware Shoals- JB Brookie, 95, husband of Frances Spearman Brookie of 16246 Hwy. 25 North died Wednesday, October 12, 2011 at Hospice of the Piedmont. Born in Pickens County, he was a son of the late John and Mary Jane Green Brucke.  Mr. Brookie was a member of Harmony United Methodist Church and was Past Master of Princeton Lodge No. 129 A.F.M.  He served in the US Army in France, Belgium and Germany during WWII.
