Brenda Kay Coker, 59, wife of William Tim Coker of 2443 Ekom Beach Road died Wednesday, May 5, 2010 at her home. She was born in Cherokee County, a daughter of the late Otis and Bertie Ellison Nix. She was a retired salesperson and was a member of Eastside Baptist Church in Laurens.

Surviving besides her husband of the home are four daughters: Denise Taylor, Laurens, Cindy DeShields, Hickory Tavern, Amy Gray, Laurens and Lisa Cromer, Mountville;
Two step-daughters, Barbara Tower, Easley and Sandra Simmons, Greer; one step-son, Ronnie Coker, Greer. Also surviving are two sisters, Barbara Porter, Laurens and Judy Jamerson, Laurens, eight grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and twelve step-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted Friday, 2 pm at Parker-White Funeral Home with Rev. Willie Porter officiating. Burial will follow in Ware Shoals Cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be Larry and Christopher DeShields, Christian Dorn, Justin Gray and Perry Coker.
