Honea Path – Sara Cothran Tumblin, 92, widow of Vernon Tumblin, formerly of 406 Filter Plant Rd., died Saturday, June 26, 2010 at National Health Care of Anderson.
Born in Anderson County, she was a daughter of the late Robert L. and Lola McMillan Cothran. She was a member of Friendship Baptist Church and was retired from The Torrington Co.
She is survived by a sister, Robbie Gambrell and husband Aaron of Honea Path. She was pre-deceased by two brothers, Cary and Ralph Cothran and two sisters, Ollie Phillips and Ruby Bozard.
Funeral services will be held at 3 PM Sunday at Pruitt Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dale Phillips officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 PM Sunday at Pruitt Funeral Home prior to the service. The family is at the home of her sister, Mrs. Aaron Gambrell, 410 Filter Plant Road.In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Friendship Baptist Church, 220 Friendship Church Road, Honea Path, SC 29654.
