He was born in Greenville County, a son of the late Howard Layne and Helen Blake Barton Puckett.
Mr. Puckett was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, Vietnam and was retired from Michelin Tire Corp, Lexington Plant. He was a member of Pond Branch United Methodist Church, Gilbert.
Surviving besides his wife of the home are: one son, Howard McMahan Puckett, Jr. and wife Connie of Henderson, Nevada, one daughter, Heather P. Black, Lexington and two grandchildren, MacKenzie and William Puckett of Henderson, Nevada.
His brother, Neal Layne Puckett pre-deceased him.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 2 pm at Pond Branch United Methodist Church, in Gilbert with Rev. Michael Bingham officiating. The body will be placed in the church at one o’clock. Burial will be in Greenwood Memorial Gardens at 4 pm.
