Belton – Mr. Willie Dexter Murdock, 65, formerly of Belton, died Monday, August 16, 2010 at Richard Campbell Nursing Home in Anderson.

Born in Anderson County, he was a son of the late Willie and Lila Mae Baker Murdock. He was a member of Faith Baptist Church, Sons of the Confederate Veterans, and American Legion. He was a veteran in the U.S. Air Force, Vietnam War and was a retired truck driver for Smith and Waters.

Surviving are: one son, Willie E. Murdock of Belton; two brothers, Randy Murdock of Titusville, FL., and Rev. Pat Murdock of Union City, TN.; four sisters, Charlotte Holland and Nancy Crosby of Honea Path and Shirley Wilson and Jean Copelan of Belton.

Funeral Services will be held 11 AM Wednesday, at Pruitt Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Pat Murdock officiating. Burial will be in Dolly Cooper Veterans Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Tuesday at Pruitt Funeral Home.
