Born in Anderson county, he was the son of the late Roy Wells and Sara Kirby Wells Slack. He was in the construction industry and was self employed. He was associated with Ware Shoals United Methodist Church and New Mercies Baptist Church of Ware Shoals and was a Veteran of the U.S. Army.
Surviving besides his wife of the home are three sons; Michael D. Wells and wife JoAnn and Monty Ray Wells and wife Brenda all of Ware Shoals and Jerry M. Casey and wife Ann of Roebuck, two step-sons; Cecil E. Bolling and wife Carla of Ohio and Brian Bolling and wife Cris of Maryland and one step-daughter; Tammy Royale and husband Kevin of Minnesota and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 2 PM Wednesday at Parker-White Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Tina Thomas and Rev. Bobby Mabry officiating. Burial with Military Honors will follow in Greenwood Memorial Gardens.
