Opal Rousey

 

Laurens – Mrs. Opal Ann Thomason Rousey, 68, of 301 Hanks Rd., died Wednesday, September 28, 2011 at Saluda Nursing Home.

Born in Franklin County, she was the daughter of the late Thad D. and Ester Marlowe Thomason.  She was a member of Lighthouse Baptist Church of Laurens and a former member of Ninety Six Pentecostal Holiness Church for 35 years.  She was a retired nursing aide with Self Memorial Hospital.

Surviving are:  one son, James Jones and wife Freda of Ninety Six; two daughters, Janet Lee Manley and husband Marshall of Laurens and Engran Ann Singleton and husband Rony of Simpsonville; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held at 3PM Saturday at Ninety Six Pentecostal Holiness Church with Rev. Terry Carpenter, Rev. Ben Edwards, Rev. Enoch Wilson and Rev. Alvin Wilson officiating. The body will be placed in the church at 2PM.  Burial to follow in Greenwood Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends Friday from 6-8 PM at Ninety Six Pentecostal Holiness Church. The family is at the home of her son, James Jones, 97 Lowell Street, Ninety Six.  Online condolences may be made at www.parkerwhitepruitt.com
