Born in Chester County, she was a daughter of the late Willie Jeff and Emma Louise Broome Blackwell. She was retired from the retail industry. She was a volunteer with the Oconee County Guardian Ad Litem program. She was a great friend to all people, especially children.

Surviving are one son, Geoff Brown of the home; one brother, Trenham (Marie) Blackwell of Walhalla; two sisters, Sandra (Keith) Morgan of West Union and Patricia (Earl) Rogers of Walhalla. She was predeceased by two sisters, Peggy Ann and Rosa Lee Blackwell.

Funeral Services will be at 11AM Saturday, October 8, 2011 at Pruitt Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Adger McKay officiating.

The family is at the home and will receive friends from 10-11AM prior to the service at the funeral home.
