Louie McGaha

Ware Shoals – John Louie McGaha, 84, widower of Frances Hayes McGaha,  died Monday, Nov. 14, 2011 at Hospice and Community Care in Rock Hill.

Born in Anderson County, he was a son of the late Harold and Ollie Mae Smith McGaha. He was a member of the Ware Shoals First Baptist Church where he had attended the Goodwill Sunday School Class. He was a member of the Ware Shoals Masonic Lodge # 306 A.F.M. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army Signal Corp., World War II, having served in the South Pacific.

 Surviving are two sons, John H. McGaha and wife Ann of Fort Mill, and James A. Sweatt and wife Patsy of Fountain Inn, a daughter, Betty Holleman and husband Troy of Maiden, N.C., a daughter-in-law, Carolyn McGaha of Camden, a step-brother, Ashley McClain and a step sister, Rosemary Moore, both of Honea Path, eight grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. He was pre-deceased by a son, Dean McGaha and a daughter, Jean McGaha.

 Funeral services will be held at 3 P.M. Thursday at Parker-White Funeral Home with Rev. Leon Jones officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Memorial Gardens with military rites.

 The family will receive friends from 1:30 to 2:30 P.M. Thursday at Parker-White Funeral Home, prior to the service. The family will be at their respective homes.
