Hodges – Betty Ruth Gambrell Davis, 80, wife of Broadus “Peanut” Davis, of 4624 Moorefield St., died Monday December 12, 2011 at her home.
Born in Anderson County, she was a daughter of the late Ossie Gordon and Floy Ester Roland Gambrell. She was of the Baptist faith and worked at LaFrance Industries. She also had worked at Hodges Elementary School Cafeteria.
Surviving in addition to her husband of the home are: two sons, David and Christopher Latham, both of Anderson; one stepson, Keith Davis (Jo) of Anderson; one stepdaughter, Donna Garner (Dale) of Anderson; two brothers, Ben and Jerry Gambrell; one sister, Virginia Wright; one grandchild, Justin Latham, five step-grandchildren, and ten step-great grandchildren.
She was predeceased by one brother, James Gambrell and three sisters, Katherine Hatcher, Earline Garrison, and Frances Hollingsworth.
Graveside services will be held at 2PM Wednesday December 14, 2011 at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Anderson with Rev. Charles Caldwell officiating.
The family is at the home and will receive friends Tuesday from 6-8PM at Parker-White Funeral Home in Ware Shoals.
