Born in Abbeville County she was a daughter of the late Raymond and Ella Gambrell Phillips. She was a member of Keowee Baptist Church and was retired from Honea Path Shirtmakers.
Surviving are a son, Wesley Ashley of Donalds, a daughter Elaine A. Stewart of Spartanburg, two grandsons, Joey Ashley and William Ashley, and three great-grandchildren, Leland Ashley, William Wesley Ashley, Jr., and Maddison Jane Ashley. She was predeceased by four brothers, John, Ralph, Frank, and Marvin Phillips and two sisters, Eva Parris and Sara Ballard.
Funeral Services will be held at 3 P.M. Saturday at Keowee Baptist Church with Rev. Tony Lee, Rev. Justin Phillips, and Rev. Jerry Mize officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 P.M. Saturday at the church prior to the service. The family is at the home of her son, Wesley Ashley, 286 Captain’s Rd., Donalds.
