Greenville – Libby Sue Moody Higgins, 57, wife of John Calhoun Higgins III, of 620 Glassy Rock Court, formerly of Greenwood, SC, died January 16, 2012 at Hospice of the Piedmont in Greenwood.
Born in Greenwood, she was a daughter of the late Rev. Dr. LeGrande and Elizabeth “Lib” Ann Ballentine Moody. She was retired from Century 21 Citizens Trust Realty Company. She was a graduate of Greenwood High School class of 1972, a former teacher at The Sunshine House in Greenwood, a member of The Million Dollar Realty Club in Gatlinburg, TN, and was the Chairman of The Boys and Girls Club in Branson, MO.
Surviving in addition to her husband of the home are her step-mother, Mary Virginia Moody of Florence, SC, two sons; Preston B. Bryan III and Brooks L. Bryan, both of Lexington, KY, two step-sons; John Tate Higgins of Portland, OR and David William Higgins of Charleston, SC., one sister; Fran Moody Brown and husband, Dubie of Greenwood, two nephews; Greg Ferguson of Greenwood and Wes Westbrook of Fair Hope, AL and one great nephew; Nick Ferguson of Greenwood.
Memorial services will be held at 2PM Saturday at St. Mark United Methodist Church in Greenwood with Rev. Barrett Alewine officiating.
The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the church. The family will be at the home her sister, Fran Brown at 112 River Birch Ct.
