Lula Madden

Ware Shoals  -  Lula Bell King Madden, 93, widow of Dennis Madden, Sr. of 11413 Indian Mound Road died Saturday, February 25, 2012 at National  Health Care in Laurens.  She was born in Newberry County, a daughter of the late William D. and Mittie Lee Bedenbough King.  She was retired from Riegel Textile Corp. and was a member of Reedy Grove Pentecostal Holiness Church.

 

 

Surviving are two sons:  Dennis Madden, Jr. and wife Patty, Ware Shoals, Roger Dale Madden and wife, Carolyn, Ware Shoals;  three daughters:  Margaret Riser and husband, Mike, Clinton, Shelby Wilkie and husband, Henry, Laurens and Toby Hembree and husband, Marvin of Gray Court. A daughter-in-law, Carolyn E. Madden and, eighteen grandchildren and twenty four great –grand children.

She was pre-deceased by son, Harold Leland Madden and daughters, Sharon Wilkerson and Cathy Denise Madden, and was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 2 pm at Reedy Grove Pentecostal Holiness Church with Rev. Tommy Wooten and Rev. Billy Pinson officiating.  Burial will follow in Greenwood Memorial Gardens.  Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.

The body will be placed in the church at noon.  The family will receive friends at the church, 1-2 pm.
