Mary Frances Brown Sheppard

Ware Shoals - Mary Frances Sheppard, 73, of 104 Smith Street Extension, widow of Louis Alexander Sheppard, Jr. died on Wednesday March 14, 2012 at her daughter’s home.


She was born in Donalds, a daughter of the late Ellen and Fulton Brown.  She was a member of Walnut Grove Baptist Church, where she served as president of the Seniors Sunday School class.  She graduated as Salutatorian from Dixie High School in 1956.  She was a longtime employee of Michelin Tire Company in Greenville, where she was known for being dependable and personable.

Surviving are one son, Brian Sheppard (Kathy); two daughters, Stacey Carroll (Mike) and Denise Moody (Tony); one step-son, Tony Sheppard; one former daughter-in-law, Becky Sheppard;  six sisters, Lorraine Cheshire, Glendel Ashley (Lester), Elaine O’Dell (Dan), Ruby Warren, Laura Osborne (Bobby), and Maxine Brown; and nine grandsons, Justin Moody, Jarrod Moody, Jordan Moody, Jaret Duncan, Ethan Sheppard, Zach Riddley, Seth Riddley, Lucas Roof, and Logan Roof; three step-grandchildren, Allen Sheppard, Angela Harrison, and Gabrielle Whitmire; and a sister-in-law, Brenda Brown.  She was predeceased by two brothers, James “Sonny” Brown and Jerry Brown.

Funeral Services will be conducted Friday at 1 PM at Walnut Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Scott Dublin and Rev. Mark Strickland officiating. Burial will follow in Oakbrook Memorial Park.
