Charles “PaPa Charlie” E. Fleming

Donalds – Charles “PaPa Charlie” Edward Fleming 82, of 5668 Hwy 184 E., husband of Ann Gambrell Fleming died Saturday, April 7, 2012 at Self Regional Medical Center.

Born in Abbeville County, he was a son of the late Roy and Ethel Simpson Fleming. He was a member of Southside Baptist Church and a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was retired from Abbeville Shirt Makers and was an avid gardener and guitar player.

 Surviving in addition to his wife of the home are, one son, Charles Ray Fleming and wife Melissa of Boiling Springs, one daughter, Carol Waits and husband Darry of Lexington, a son-in-law, Bobby McMahan of Abbeville, one brother William “Buddy” Fleming and wife Lucille of Greenwood, four sisters; Edith Shirley of Anderson, Muriel McCoy, Carolyn McCoy and husband Leonard, and Eula Phillips and husband David, all of Honea Path, eight grandchildren, Caleb McMahan, Jessi Moore and husband Blake, Michelle, Hillary, and Lauren Fleming, Lenzi, Brady, and Corey Waits. He was predeceased by a daughter, Sandra McMahan.

 Funeral services will be 2PM Tuesday April 10, 2012 at Southside Baptist Church with Rev. Troy Crain and Rev. Billy Slatten officiating. The body will be placed in the church at 1PM. Burial with military honors, will follow in Greenwood Memorial Gardens.
