Sonny Lindsay

Belton – Ray Douglas “Sonny” Lindsay, 72, widower of Sadie Bell Sullivan Lindsay, of 192 Lester Ashley Road, died Monday April 23, 2012 at AnMed Health Center.

 Born in Abbeville County, he was a son of the late Roy C. and Evelyn Branyon Lindsay. He was a member of Chiquola Baptist Church and a US Army veteran. He was a retired supervisor with Goodman Conveyer.

 Surviving are two brothers; Olin Lindsay and wife Ruth of Belton and Donald Lindsay and wife Cathy of Honea Path; eight sisters, Marion Banks of Donalds, Jeanette Reed of Belton, JoAnn Sellers and husband Dan of Anderson, Betty Wilson and husband William of Williamston, Judy Knight and husband Wayne, Carolyn Ashley (Jimmy Brock), Clara Ashley and husband David, and June Gambrell and husband Ronnie, all of Honea Path; six nephews and ten nieces.

 He was predeceased by a brother, David Lindsay; a nephew, Kenneth Reed and a niece, Kim Ashley.

 Funeral services will be held at 2PM Thursday April 26, 2012 at Pruitt Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ronnie Powell and Rev. Paul Cooper officiating. Burial will follow in Garden of Memories.
