"Ed" Alewine

Belton – Edwin “Ed” Knox Alewine, 88, of 229 Alewine Road, widower of Ethel Pauline Beauford Alewine, died Wednesday, June 6, 2012 at Rainey Hospice House.

Born in Anderson County, he was a son of the late Clarence and Mae Fisher Alewine.  He was a member of Mt. Bethel Baptist Church and a member of Dew Drop Lodge #266 and was a retired supervisor with Anderson County DHEC.

Surviving are:  one son, Eddie Alewine and wife Gayle of Belton; one daughter, Debbie Vaughn and husband Kim of Belton; two brothers, Jerry and Terry Alewine of Belton; four sisters, Grace Ellis and Ovaline Bryant, both of Anderson, Edith Skinner of Laurens and Etrulia Lollis of Honea Path; seven grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by a brother, Wendell Alewine.

Funeral Services will be held at 2PM Friday at Mt. Bethel Baptist Church with Dr. Ron Culbertson and Rev. Chris Guire officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1-2PM at the church.  Burial to follow in the church cemetery.
