Ruth Hancock

Honea Path – Ruth Dunlap Hancock, 79, wife of David Workman Hancock, of 13 McKay Road, died Thursday, July 5, 2012 at AnMed Health Center.

 

Born in Abbeville County, she was a daughter of the late Marvin L. and Fannie Dodson Dunlap. She was a homemaker and a member of Honea Path First Baptist Church where she was active in the Young at Heart and the Church Choir. She loved camping and was an avid beachcomber.

Surviving in addition to her loving husband of 60 years are a son, Joseph David Hancock and wife Tommie of Greenwood, a daughter, Tami Miller and husband Bart of Greer, a brother, Larry Dunlap and wife Mary of Donalds, two sisters, Hilda McGee and Frances May, both of Honea Path, two grandchildren, Brett and Tara Miller. She was pre-deceased by two brothers, Lamar and David Dunlap.

Funeral services will be held at 3 P.M. Saturday at Honea Path First Baptist Church with Rev. Mike Moody officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 P.M. Saturday at the church prior to the service. The family is at the home. The family request that flowers be omitted and memorials be made to Honea Path First Baptist Church Choir Fund, 100 South Main St., Honea Path, SC 29654.
