James Madison

Honea Path – James William Madison, 88, widower of Clara Belle Fields Madison, of 14 Eastview St., died Friday July 20, 2012, at Rainey Hospice House.

 Born in Abbeville County, he was a son of the late Annie Lou Scott Madison. He was a member of Keowee Baptist Church and a US Army veteran of WWII. He was a member of Century Lodge #37 A.F.M. and a Shriner. He was formerly employed at Buddy’s Fuel Oil in Greenville and retired from O’Dell Oil Company.

 Surviving are a son, Roger Madison and wife Debra of Honea Path, two grandsons, Jeff Madison and wife Alicia of Honea Path and Jamie Madison and fiancé Tonya Williamson of Belton, three great-grandchildren, Adam and Aaron Madison of Honea Path and Katelyn Madison of Iva. He was predeceased by his brother, Ralph Madison.

 Graveside services will be held at 3PM Sunday July 22, 2012 at Mt. Bethel Baptist Church cemetery with Rev. Jerry Mize officiating.

 The family will receive friends Sunday 1:30-2:30 PM at Pruitt Funeral Home prior to the service. The family is at the home of his son, Roger Madison, 305 Haynie Dr. Honea Path.
