Born in Anderson County, she was a daughter of the late Horace and Cora Lee Dukes Brooks. She was a member of Honea Path First Baptist Church.

 Surviving are: two sons, Tony Brown and wife Robin of Honea Path, and Terry Brown of Abbeville, one sister, Judy Culberson and husband Thomas of Anderson, five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a sister, Mildred Bridges.

 Funeral services will be held 11AM Tuesday August 28, 2012 at Pruitt Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Mike Moody officiating. Burial will follow in Broadmouth Baptist Church Cemetery.
