Joyce A. Fields

 

Belton – Ella Joyce Ashley-Ashley Fields, 78, of 661 Carroll Rd, died Friday, November 23, 2012 at Rainey Hospice House. Joyce was born May 22, 1934 in Anderson County, to her parents Clyde and Myrtie Cleo Ashley-Ashley Sr.

 

 

She was married 41 years to the love of her life, Jerry Benjamin Ashley, who passed away in 1994. They shared two children, Jerry Lamar Ashley, who passed away in 2010, and wife Sherri, and Wanda Taylor (Lanny), who have been her caregivers since June 2012. Joyce had six grandchildren, Shannon VanPelt (Sammy), Brittaney “Anna Taylor” Ashley, Amy Knotts (David), Benjamin Taylor (Amy), Brandee Smith (R.J.), and Travis Lamar Ashley, who died in 2007, eight great-grandchildren, Kayleigh, Braylon, Clearance, Alena, Taylor, Riley, Kaydon Travis, and one on the way, due in May. Joyce had two brothers, Louie Ashley (Sue), and Clyde Ashley, who died in 2002, one sister, Becky Smith, whose husband Earl, died in 1992.

In 1997, Joyce married John P. “Jake” Fields, who died in 2003. Through this marriage she gained his two children, Gene Fields (Pam) and Jackie Segars (Noland), five step-grandchildren and two step-great grandchildren.

Special people in Joyce’s life other than those named above were her half-sister, Dot Simmons (Jimmy), and the mother of Shannon and Travis, Donna Brock (Rickey). She also leaves behind her beloved cat, Lucky, and a host of in-laws, nieces, nephews, and friends.

Joyce was a Lady who loved the Lord, loved to laugh and have fun. She will be greatly missed by all who loved her. Wanda and Lanny would like to thank Hospice of the Upstate for all the care and love they have shown to us. Miss Bobbie and Claire, we will never forget you!

Funeral services will be held at 2 P.M. Monday, November 26, 2012 at Pruitt Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Benjamin Taylor and Rev. Kile Antone officiating. Burial will follow in Garden of Memories.
